Hey Doug (the author, not the commentor)…the post is extremely well written and I do agree that there are many stupid spyware software which are of no use at all but there are pretty decent ones too…I like Spyware blaster a lot…I think you should try that too, if you haven’t

Very well put. There are some great free programs out there that will help you. But, and this is a big big but, most are there to get you to buy something. Its either a upgrade to their product or another product they are promoting.
The best advice is to check review sites to get a idea on what will work best for you. It may cost, but you will be better off in the long run.
