it seems that the number of users that have no problems running vista is equal to the number of users that do have a problem with vista. maybe we just haven't heard enough from the peopl that don't have any issues running it to make a bold enough statement towards the stability of vista.

then again, i haven't seen any complaints about leopard so that makes me wonder...

I've had Vista for a while now and have no complains. In fact, I've gotten so used to the bells and whistles of how it looks that XP just looks plain ugly to me now.

Other than that, I find both operating systems to be about the same. I can run anything I want on Vista and have never had a compatibility problem (I don't know what everyone else is complaining about it). It helps being a tech savvy person so you know where to go to tweak your system. I removed most of the unnecessary features and am left with a pretty fast system. Not as fast as XP, but not noticeably slower.

I tried Vista briefly, but ever since I upgraded to XP I haven't looked back. It's much more stable, and you'd be surprised at how many applications run compatibly on it :)

By the way, I got the idea from this comment here, great post:

Use Linux! Either "apt-get -d upgrade" (I think) or use a distro with a rolling release cycle. Long Live Linux!

Right after I posted this, I found out that they are discontinuing support for XP in April of 2009, which makes me very worried that we are going to have to deal with Vista on almost every PC that comes out now. I haven't had too many problems, but I haven't dug too deep into it yet.
